Wellness Series

Join us as we learn about Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative (OHAI), a statewide network through the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, designed for seniors and their loved ones. OHAI offers a wide range of healthy aging educational programs and resources for anyone living in the state. Programs teach about healthy brain function, living with chronic conditions, tai chi for balance, older adult driving safety, and more. Come learn about the opportunities in our area to arm yourself and your loved ones with the knowledge and resources to age gracefully.

Community Outreach Coordinator, Jenna Chavez graduated with her master’s in nutrition and food science in May of 2020. Following her marriage in October 2020, Jenna started working with OSU Extension in 2021 providing nutrition education for Tulsa County. After her short time at the extension office, she had the opportunity to work on a larger scale, starting with the northeastern division of the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative (OHAI) in December 2021 as a community outreach coordinator. Over the past 3 years with OHAI, Jenna has had the privilege to provide nutrition education and exercise classes to older Oklahomans. When Jenna’s not teaching classes, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 5-month-old, and mini-aussie doddle.
